Alex Cann has been in the fitness and training industry for over 7 years. He has spent 2 years, 2011-2013, as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at William Woods University focusing on implementing new and supporting current strength and conditioning programs for college baseball, softball, golf, and cheerleading athletes. While coaching college athletes, Alex also trained students and community members ranging from ages 12-75 years old. Alex has spent time training at local health clubs and fitness studios since 2013. These clients range from 10-70 years of age with fitness levels of beginners to seasoned athletes along individuals with physical limitations and injuries.

Along with being a seasoned trainer Alex is also a Middle School Physical Education Teacher in San Diego. He uses many of his training styles with his students to foster a healthier future for his students. Alex has been teaching in San Diego Unified School District for the last 5 school years.

Alex Cann designs and implements programs ranging from weight loss, to strength and conditioning, running, obstacle course training, and flexibility. Alex currently provides one-on-one, partner/small group, and boot camp style training sessions. Alex strives to create an environment that encourages clients to expand their skill sets to fully maximize their current and future fitness, as well as to reach optimal health potential and personal goals.

Besides being a professional trainer and educator, Alex is an elite Spartan Race competitor and former college and professional baseball player. Alex’s baseball successes are being named First Team All American Relief Pitcher in 2011 for William Woods University. Alex prides himself in being able to adapt and challenge himself mentally and physically by competing in Spartan races. He competed in 16 races in 2017 while reaching the podium once with a 3rd place finish in Lake Tahoe in the elite division. His current goal is to compete in 28 races during the 2018 season in quest to qualify for the Spartan World Championships.

Alex has a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science at William Woods University 2011 and a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education Grades K-12 at William Woods University 2013.
